Salon Refuses To Do Disabled Woman’s Nails, Then Walmart Worker Steps Up With Sweet Offer.

For many women, getting a manicure is a treat. It costs not only money, but time as well, so a customer expects to be pampered in the nail salon.

That’s exactly what Angela Peters was hoping for when she went to the Da Vi Nails salon in the Burton, Michigan Walmart.

But Peters, who is in a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy, was turned away from the salon because she “moves too much”.

Ebony Harris, a Walmart cashier, knows Peters from her many times shopping in the store. When Harris saw the exchange, she decided to take her lunch break and walked up to Peters.

“I just asked her, ‘Do you want me to do your nails?’ And she just started smiling and said ‘yeah,’”

So together, they went into the store aisles to select a nail polish color.

Harris then spent the rest of her break painting Peters’ nails and enjoying conversation with her. Peters repeatedly said she was sorry for shaking so much, to which Harris continued to respond, “Don’t say that, you’re fine.”

Tasia Smith was working at the Subway restaurant in the store and saw the series of events take place. She was so moved by Harris’ gesture that she snapped a couple of pictures. She then went home and posted the photos and story on her Facebook page in an effort to give credit to Harris for her kindness. She never guessed it would go viral.

Since going viral, many people on social media have called to boycott the location. However, Harris mentioned that she doesn’t want to negatively impact the nail salon. She only hopes this story catches their attention because Peters never should have been turned away in the first place.

Harris was happy to paint Peters’ nails because, as she said, Peters is “a girly girl. She wants to look pretty… so, why can’t she?”

But the thing that stands out the most about Harris is her humble attitude. As she told radio station Cars108:

I’m not perfect. I have my flaws. I have my own issues. But my heart goes out to people who are in need and to actually sit and talk to her… And I told her she is a blessing to me and many others. And I pray everyday that I am a blessing to someone… and it has nothing to do with a financial or material thing and the blessing I got out of it was to see her smile.
